WATER

... is the element for which Kneipp is most famous. Because he himself cured tuberculosis by bathing in the Danube in his youth, he dedicated his life to healing with water. He developed a comprehensive system of hydro- and balneotherapy; a combination of hot and cold water.
Water affects the skin with thermal, chemical, and mechanical stimuli, which trigger processes with which the body regulates the basic functions of the body and promotes the functioning of various organs. Kneipp used washing, affusions, baths, wraps and compresses, inhalations, and drinking as hydrotherapy.

If Kneipp's methods of water therapy are combined with healing mineral water rich in calcium, magnesium, and various minerals, suitable for drinking, we get an excellent basis for a healthy and long life.

EXERCISE

Walking, cycling, swimming, and various forms of exercise are the right form of relaxation and movement. Everyone should adapt their exercise to their abilities, needs, environment, and profession, so that they will enjoy and relax in it. With movement in all stages of life, we strengthen the functioning of the heart and blood vessels, improve circulation, endurance, self-esteem, and cope with stress more easily.

At Terme Snovik, there are many opportunities for outdoor activities: swimming in thermal water, guided activities, hiking on marked hiking trails, cycling, exercises on fitness equipment, and a trim trail.

NUTRITION

Nutrition according to Kneipp is simply good – full of taste, diverse, wholesome, and fresh.
Kneipp emphasized seasonal and local products and plant-based foods in its preparation. Small meals several times a day protect the digestive tract and prevent hunger attacks. Eating should be associated with a positive experience, joy, and pleasure.

At Terme Snovik, we give priority to locally grown food and seasonal dishes, including individual elements of a healthy diet in our daily offer. We also organize healthy eating workshops for guests, employees, and locals.

HERBS

The use of herbs for medicinal purposes dates back far in history. Sebastian Kneipp was already familiar with herbs and their use, which was later confirmed by research. To prevent diseases and treat them, he used medicinal plants with mild effects, from which he prepared tinctures, powders, teas, and oils. Herbs can develop their healing effect only if we use them regularly and in a disciplined manner.

At Terme Snovik, we have about 30 types of herbs and spices in our herbal garden, which we use for educating visitors, for tea, and as an addition to preparing meals.

This element connects the other four elements into a complete life in balance, presence, and harmony with nature. Sebastian Kneipp was aware of the importance of order and organization in people's mental health. By following a healthy lifestyle, our lives will be in balance, we will be better able to cope with stress and other problems of today's world.

We also include a healthy lifestyle in the offer of Terme Snovik (relaxing wellness and Kneipp programs, breathing exercises, various workshops, and events), we cultivate old customs and connect with the surrounding population.
