100% renewable sources
Since 2007, we have exclusively used renewable energy sources for heating. Biomass from surrounding forests, heat pumps, and solar energy allow us to save significant amounts of CO₂ emissions annually.
Smart living
Our apartments and rooms are built from natural materials and equipped with a smart room system that automatically manages energy-efficient usage when there are no guests in the room.
Clean water, pure joy
We are aware that water is our greatest treasure. We handle it with care, use eco-friendly cleaners, and encourage our guests to act responsibly.
At Terme Snovik, we proudly carry the EU Ecolabel. In 2008, we became the first spa in Slovenia to receive this prestigious European recognition for environmentally friendly tourist accommodations.
The Eco Flower is the official symbol of the European Union for environmental excellence. It is awarded only to those who meet strict criteria regarding energy use, water consumption, waste reduction, and the use of environmentally friendly substances.
But we didn't just want to "meet the requirements." We wanted to exceed them. To obtain the label, 31 points were needed, and with our innovation and dedication, we achieved a remarkable 66 selection criteria. This proves that sustainability is not our obligation, but our passion.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY OF TERME SNOVIK - KAMNIK

Our vision remains green. With the construction of the new NaturHotel Snovik, we are setting new standards for sustainable building. The hotel will be constructed using wooden structures, respecting local architecture and minimizing carbon footprint, further solidifying our commitment to coexistence with nature.
Plans include the purchase of a waste compactor, the acquisition and installation of energy-efficient furniture, an energy-efficient heating and cooling system, devices that reduce the consumption of drinking and sanitary water, an intelligent room system, a system for monitoring and regulating energy systems, and thermal insulation. The share of renewable building materials will be 40%. We will continue to utilize renewable energy sources: biomass and photovoltaics. 52% of the hotel’s costs will be allocated to enhancing material and energy efficiency. Additionally, we will initiate the renovation or updating of the guest awareness program regarding important topics related to energy conservation, water usage, proper waste separation, and waste reduction.
NaturHotel Snovik will further strengthen the position of Terme Snovik as a pioneer in sustainable tourism and will continue to serve as a model of good practice in Slovenia.
Terme Snovik has been based on sustainable principles since its inception, which is why our apartment complex is built from natural materials, including beech wood, and the entire heating system operates exclusively on renewable energy sources. Since 2007, we have been heating water and air using 100% renewable sources: 84% biomass, 12% heat pumps, and 4% solar energy, resulting in 650 tons less CO₂ emissions annually.
By heating with wood biomass, we have produced 37,500,000 kWh of heat – the same amount that would otherwise be obtained from 3,750,000 liters of heating oil. This has allowed us to save resources, reduce CO₂ emissions by 10,125 tons, and avoid 535 fuel deliveries. All the wood biomass – wood chips – is sourced from the immediate local environment, further supporting the sustainable development of the valley.

Our ecological focus goes hand in hand with the philosophy of Sebastian Kneipp. His five pillars of health – water, movement, nutrition, herbs, and lifestyle – teach us about simple and natural living. We encourage you to reconnect with nature through barefoot walking, Kneipping in streams, and exercising in the fresh air.
Terme Snovik, as an eco-destination, actively promotes sustainable forms of mobility.
Visitors have access to electric charging stations, allowing for worry-free charging of vehicles while swimming or relaxing, and we also encourage guests to use public transport and electric bicycles.
Together, we reduce our carbon footprint, alleviate environmental stress, and preserve the natural beauty of the Tuhinj Valley.

At Terme Snovik, we believe that a thermal center should not be an island in the landscape, but rather the heart that beats in rhythm with it. We are a proud part of the Tuhinj Valley – a place where people still greet each other on the road and where the word "local" is not just a marketing phrase, but a way of life.
Together with the Tuhinj Valley Tourist Association and locals, we have developed numerous hiking trails, organized ethnological, cultural, and social events, and encouraged the involvement of young people in preserving heritage.
Terme Snovik has grown alongside the valley, and today, through joint events – from carnival celebrations, Easter fairs, May Day festivities with the Tuhinj Valley Brass Band, cycling ascents to Črnivec, ethnological days, hiking weekends, the Blooming Autumn event, to the Christmas story with live nativity scenes – we co-create the recognition of the area. With these events, we bring visitors and our guests closer to the rich cultural heritage while preserving the tradition that gives the valley its character.
