Hiking in the Tuhinj Valley and Kamnik area

Hiking

Every step is a return to oneself

In the Tuhinj Valley, the paths lead not only to destinations but also to inner peace. When you put on your hiking boots – or decide to go barefoot – you step into a world where asphalt is replaced by soft forest floors, and city noise is replaced by the singing of birds and the rustling of leaves.

For us, hiking is not a competition of elevation gain, but rather the Kneipp pillar of movement in its most beautiful form. It is an invitation to breathe deeply and allow nature to embrace you.

The combination of active movement in the hills and relaxation in healing waters is the recipe for vitality that we swear by at Terme Snovik.

If you want to view the valley from a higher perspective, Terme Snovik is an excellent starting point for longer hikes.

  • Velika planina: Just a stone's throw away rises one of the most beautiful alpine pastures in Europe. A stroll among the shepherd's huts while listening to the bells of cows is an experience you shouldn't miss.
  • Menina planina: A vast plateau covered with forests and pastures offers tranquility and wonderful hiking trails suitable for all seasons.
  • Sv. Miklavž: A popular spot directly above the thermal baths, ideal for an afternoon ascent.

What do I need for a safe hike in the Tuhinj Valley?

For hiking in the Tuhinj Valley we recommend comfortable hiking boots with good grip, clothing suited to the weather, plenty of water and a small snack.
