Movement is life

At Terme Snovik, we believe that there is no better way to start the day than by awakening your body in the weightless embrace of our thermal waters.

According to Kneipp's principles
Inactivity weakens, exercise strengthens, excessive strain harms.

Water aerobics with us is not a competition; it is a path to vitality, where every movement becomes easier yet more effective. Sebastian Kneipp, a pioneer of natural healing, established movement as one of the five pillars of health.

Frequently asked questions about water aerobics

What is water aerobics and how does it work?

Water aerobics is a form of guided group exercise featuring a variety of movements to mobilise the joints, strengthen the muscles and improve flexibility. At Terme Snovik, sessions take place in warm thermal water and are led by our entertainment team. The buoyancy of the water makes movements easier, while the water's resistance allows effective muscle strengthening without putting excessive strain on the joints.

When does water aerobics take place at Terme Snovik?

Water aerobics at Terme Snovik takes place every day from 10.00 to 10.30 in the indoor thermal pool. The session lasts 30 minutes and is suitable for guests of all ages and fitness levels. Afterwards, at 10.30, you can also join the Kneipp water affusions. The programme runs all year round, so you can stay active whatever the season.

Is water aerobics at Terme Snovik free?

Yes, water aerobics is free for all visitors with a valid pool ticket. There is no extra charge for joining the regular guided session. It takes place every day and is a great opportunity to combine your spa visit with some active exercise. The programme also includes Kneipp water affusions, which take place right after the morning session.

Is water aerobics suitable for beginners and people with lower fitness?

Yes, water aerobics is also suitable for beginners and people with lower fitness levels. Thanks to the buoyancy of the water, the movements are less strenuous than on land, and you can adjust the intensity of the exercises to your own abilities. At Terme Snovik, the guided session is designed so that guests of all ages can join in, including those with no previous experience of group exercise.

Does water aerobics help with back and joint pain?

Exercising in water can help reduce the strain on the spine and joints, as the water's buoyancy supports part of your body weight. Warm water makes movement more comfortable and helps relax tense muscles, while regular exercise can improve flexibility and muscle strength. Water aerobics can therefore be beneficial for certain chronic musculoskeletal problems. If you have severe pain or health restrictions, we recommend consulting a doctor first.

Is water aerobics suitable for older people?

Yes, water aerobics is especially beneficial for older people, thanks to the reduced strain on the joints and the option of adapting the exercises to individual abilities. Regular movement in water can help maintain muscle strength, flexibility and balance. At Terme Snovik we offer gentle guided sessions that are also suitable for seniors who want to stay active without intense physical exertion.

Do I need to be able to swim to take part in water aerobics?

Many water aerobics exercises do not require active swimming, as they can be done standing in the water. However, it is important that you feel safe in the pool and that the water depth suits your height and swimming ability. If you are a non-swimmer, we recommend letting the instructor know before the session starts and checking whether the exercise is suitable for you.

What is the difference between water exercise and water aerobics?

Water exercise usually involves slower, controlled movements aimed at mobilisation, muscle strengthening and improving flexibility. Water aerobics, by contrast, is generally more dynamic, often set to music and includes more intense endurance exercises. At Terme Snovik, the daily morning water session is designed mainly for gentle mobilisation and maintaining your vitality.

What do I need to take part in water aerobics?

For water aerobics at Terme Snovik you need a swimsuit, a towel and a valid pool ticket. We also recommend flip-flops with non-slip soles for safer movement on wet surfaces. Make sure you drink enough before the session and avoid heavy meals right before it starts. Adjust the intensity of the exercises to how you feel and to your fitness level.

Can I combine water aerobics with Kneipp water affusions?

Yes, at Terme Snovik you can combine water aerobics with Kneipp water affusions. The morning session runs from 10.00 to 10.30 and is followed immediately by guided cold-water affusions. The combination of movement and water treatments is based on Kneipp's principles of a healthy lifestyle. If you have cardiovascular disease or other health restrictions, consult a doctor before using cold water.
